We are thrilled that you're considering commissioning us to bring a unique work of art to life!
As artists, we take pride in our work and are here to help you bring your unique vision to life, whilst striving to provide the best possible experience for our clients.
To ensure that our collaboration runs smoothly and that we are both happy with the final results, we have a few terms of service that our clients must abide by.
These terms are designed to protect both of our interests and ensure that we have a clear understanding of what to expect throughout the commissioning process.
So, please take a moment to review our terms of service before we begin.
If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to us.
DISCLAIMER: Our Terms of service is geared more for digital art commissions at this time. We will sub-categorize our Terms of service for each type of commission when we more openly offer other media for commissioning. If you are looking to commission something other than digital art, before it is added to the terms of service, we will write up a specialized contract for your commission.
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
- If you have any problem regarding the commissioned piece, please tell us right away, so we can find a solution together.
- Your satisfaction is our end goal, so communication is the most important part of the commission process. As such, if you have some issues with communication, please don’t hesitate to let us know beforehand, so we can adapt ourselves to you.

- We work best when given artistic freedom to create an image based on the characters you provide: We are happy to match a scene or pose that you have in mind, please allow and expect some variations.
- We may use photo bashing (i.e., digital mix media) on our commissions if we see fit at our own discretion.
- Price will vary depending on the complexity of the character design, background or other elements as we deem fit.
CUSTOMER USE
All works done by us are for personal use only, unless otherwise contracted and compensated for appropriately.
- The client reserves the right to:
- Claiming rights to the character, but not the drawing itself.
- Sharing/Reposting the artwork any place they see fit (i.e., showing others via social media, personal messages, etc.), with proper credit, and using the provided watermarked version of the artwork to do so.
=> This is to prevent art theft. Using a commissioned piece as a profile picture falls under personal use and you do not need to use the watermarked version in that application. ~*
- Printing the artwork for personal use only.
- The following is considered copyright infringement:
- Reproducing/using copyrighted artwork commercially without our knowledge and consent.
- Claiming the artwork as your own.
- Removing our signature from the artwork.
- Changing the artwork without our consent.
- Sharing/Posting the non-watermarked version of the art online, and not giving proper credit.
PAYMENT
- On each of our example/pricing page there is a little note under each section that tells you if we are currently open for commissions in that category of art. You are welcome to send us a filled out commission form even when commissions are closed; that way you have an estimation for how much your piece will cost when commissions are open again. However, when commissions do open again, you will have to re-submit the form.
Submitting a quote does not hold a spot for you in a que. It is just to give you an estimation on pricing and wait time for the piece to be done.
- We will send all invoices and only accept USD as payment!
- A rush fee will be applied to the total price, if you are needing the commission done before a specific date that is sooner than my normal delivery time.
- ! Rush fee means that you will be put at the top of our to-do list !
- We will discuss how much if "rush fee" applies to you.
- We will ONLY start working on your commission after receiving full or the first-rate of the agreed payment.
- We accept payments for our work either in full, or broken up into 4 payments, but 25% of payment is always due upfront before we start your commission.
Charted Out:
- 25% of total payment paid ~ Commission started and sketching stage presented.
- 50% of total payment paid ~ finished line art presented.
- 75% of total payment paid ~ base coloring stage of art presented.
- 100% of total payment paid ~ finishing details and final artwork presented.
- You are welcome to pay any percentage upfront granted that it is above the starting 25% of total payment owed.
- (e.g., 50% before we start your commission and 50% while we are finishing the piece.)
- We only offer payment plans in the form of the above charted 4-payments.
- If a character, prop, or background is more complicated, or taking more time than expected, an added charge may be placed after communicating this with the client.
RIGHT RATES
- Personal rights are free of charge
- Private (i.e., business) rights are extra 50% of the final quote price.
- This is referring to those who want art for something not of personal use (i.e., banner, logo, mascot art), but the art will not be used for commercial use for profit (i.e., t-shirts, patches, posters, ect.)
- Commercial rights will be decided case by case.
REFUNDS AND CANCELING
- We do not provide refunds if we started working on your commission.
- If for any reason we are unable to finish the commission, we will charge for what work has been done and refund the rest.
- We may cancel a commission if we are unable to finish the art, or the client is being difficult to work with. This may mean a multitude of things, but an example is excessive criticism and/or asking for too much to be changed after agreements have been already settled and art work has been started.
- We want everyone to be happy with their work, but if you keep wanting changes and are not compensating with the additional fees, then we can either drop the commission, or finish the art without the further changes.
- After 3 days of unpaid invoice, your slot will be bumped back if another person pays first.
REVISIONS
- The client has a large amount of revisions during the sketch stage, but after the sketch art is approved by the client we will move out of the sketch phase, where the number of allowed revisions is limited.
- We wish to ensure that the artwork will look close to what the client has envisioned before then.
- After the sketching stage the client has a limited number of changes before additional charges will be discussed.
- Communicating to achieve a clear vision of the art piece during the quoting time and before the sketching stage is done, and agreements have been made, is key to prevent this.
- => Artistic Sketch: 1 minor revision.
- => Simple Style Art: 1 major revision or 2 minor revisions after sketching stage.
- => Toony Style Art or Painted Headshot: 1 major revision or 3 minor revisions after sketching stage.
- => Realistic Style Art or Complete Scene Illustration: 2 major revisions or 3 minor revisions after sketching stage.
- Additional revisions after the steps stated previously will be charged 5-20% of base price, depending on complexity.
- If you wish to change a part of the painting you have previously approved, we will charge you an extra fee.
- We hold the right to refuse any requested changes to the commissioned art, from the original design we discussed.
- Usually this is due to us not being able to fulfill your request to the best of our abilities, or if it is too big of a change for what work has already been completed.
- In the case where artistic freedom is given, we will work based on our judgment. However, if the client requests the scene to be redone in its majority or entirety, the client will be charged again.
- Any mistakes from our end will be fixed for free (i.e.: heterochromia eye colors are switched, sigil or other symbol is not accurate to the reference).
DELIVERY TIME
- Estimate of how long a Commission may take, upon starting:
- 2 days for Artistic Sketch.
- 7 days for Simple Style Art.
- 25 days for Toony Style Art or Painted Headshot.
- 35 days for Realistic Style Art or Complete Scene Illustrations.
- Commissions needed before a specific date, must state the date at the time the commission form is filled out.
- Please, give us a realistic deadline; We can’t make a fully detailed illustration in less than a week.
- The time of delivery is based on active buyer responses to our inquiries, delay may arise if not.
- Delays may also arise depending on these next factors: order of commission, complexity, health, work, or family issues.
- If delays arise, you will be notified.
- If you choose a payment plan expanding over the delivery time, there will be a delay before completion of the art.
In this case, we will work on your commission as much as what has been paid for.
- (i.e., half of the payment the first month means half of the commission done by the end of said month.)
COMMISSION INFORMATION
- Provide numerous useful references. We can guide you if needed, please ask if so.
- In the case where you have any size, resolution and/or color mode requirements, please inform us as soon as possible.
- If we already created the file and worked on it, we might not be able to change it.
- If we have to find references ourselves, an additional 50% charge of the final quote price will be added.
- If references provided are unclear or lacking, an additional 25% charge of the final quote price will be added.
- You'll be notified if we add reference fees to the final quote price, so we can discuss it if needed.
- Description of the wanted commission is required, the more details the better! You can also try to sketch your idea: we’ll take everything!
- Guideline of what is best to tell us on the commission form:
- => Pictures of the character/OC
- => Picture(s) of pose idea(s)
- => Pictures of background(s)
- => Pictures you like the mood/colors of
- => Description: (i.e.: who, doing what, where, when, why, for what)
- => Budget range
- => Any other things you can think of, or deem important
COMMISSION PROCESS / WORKFLOW
After submitting the filled out commission form, we will ask for more details if needed and answer any of your questions. Then we will come back to you before 48 hours to give you our quote price.
After finding common ground, getting the first invoice and giving the estimated completion date, we will start working on your commission.
Step 1: Sketching Stage
- We will sketch out some ideas as thumbnails (small work of art that shows what the art may look like in the end) with black and white values, then present them to you so you can choose which one you like best or if there is one you want to tweak.
- We will roughly color any of the thumbnails you have a liking to, to give a better idea of what the finished piece might look like.
- Once we have agreed on a sketch concept we will do a more refined sketch of the final piece. With the refined sketch receiving approval we move on to the next stage.
Step 2: Line Art stage
- We will begin/finish the clean line art, based on the refined sketch. It should come out almost identical to the refined sketch, but without the rough looking linework.
Step 3: Base Coloring stage
- Now that the line art is complete, we will begin putting the base colors down.
- This is a good overview of what the piece will look like before extensive rendering is done.
Step 4: Rendering, Shading and Tones stage
- If there is a major/minor change you want done it is best to inform us before step 4 (Rendering, shading and tones). The cost of changes in the art will be more as the artwork is further rendered, depending on how extensive it will be to make the change, and/or we may not do the change at this stage.
- At this stage we are detailing the work. It is the most time consuming portion of the commission, and we may not update you as frequently at this point. It takes much longer to show progress at this stage, but feel free to contact us to see how it is coming along.
After this step the artwork should be completed. You will receive a signed digital copy of the work via email or some other image hosting website to not compress the image quality.
=> Once the commission is finished, no more changes or edits can be made.
If we have permission to post on social media, we will be using the watermarked version.
Upon making a purchase with us you have acknowledged that you have read and agree to our Terms of Services.
